Top 12 Best Soul Calibur Characters
So with Soul Calibur Unbreakable Souls being a cellphone game and with Lost Swords unreleased State Side, the Soul series is kind of quiet at the moment.
Everyone has that one thing in the series that absolutely draws them just like with any other game. What I really like the most about Soul Calibur are in fact the characters wielding the blades and their stories.
Call me the rare fan who likes fighting games based on their story, but it's nice to know why this cultured badass is cutting people down with their sword or why a Japanese samurai has traveled all the way from home just to partake in a demonic war or why the staff wielder is angsty all of the time and what makes each character stand apart.
So I've decided to share some insight on this by sharing my personal top 12 best characters in the series. These are characters who I believe to be the most interesting, the most fun and the most creative regarding design, play-style or story arc. There are a few rules though.

Soul Calibur V: Soul Savior Chapter 15
Hohenzollern Castle, Stuttgart
An armored warrior entered the open gates, swiftly marching ahead of a small group of warriors. Schwarzwind members cheered for their arrival even as they helped their wounded comrades to the clinic for healing. The leader of the group however, marched through the castle until she came to the office of Schwarzwind's leader.
"It was an ambush!" The blond 20 year old woman shouted at Siegfried in fury, "I told you! I told you that it was pointless!"
"Hold your tongue, Sigrun." Hilde rebuked the younger woman, "You had no way of knowing whether or not there survivors-"
"The Ravager's men had killed and piked everyone that wasn't "pure" for anyone to see!" Sigrun countered, "They knew we were coming! I had to leave behind wounded because trying to save all of them just left everyone more vulnerable! And half of the survivors are in the clinics as we speak! So what was the point? What did they die for Siegfried?"
"They joined your

Hall of Magmento
"My lord! The envoy of Emperor Rudolf II has come."
"Send him in." Soul Calibur sheathed upon his throne, the Holy Ravager disinterestedly watched as a timid armored messenger hastily marched across the hall to the Lord of Hungary and bowed before him, "Rise and fear not."
"My lord..." The envoy fearfully stood and unfurled a message within his jacket, "His highness, the Emperor of Holy Rome would beg leave to speak with you concerning the terms of ending this strife between us."
"Oh, but go on."
"His highness, Rudolf the second of his name, has received your terms for the end of this conflict." The envoy stated, "First...that Holy Rome shall renounce all claim of lordship to the Kingdom of Hungary; Second...All Holy Roman soldiers shall be henceforth removed from Hungarian borders within a week's time under penalty of death; Third...the Emperor shall pay...half of the imperial treasury as reparations; Fourth, the Empire shall yield all drafted soldiers int
Logic's Afterword: Is SCV better than SCII or etc?
Here I thought that I was running out of reasons to bitch about SCV.
Honestly, after expunging my hatred from my system with my Logic's Insight about every single reason why I hated it, I was ready to move on and just see what Project Soul had in store for the future. After all, they clearly acknowledged that SCV was a rushed and incomplete game, key figures like the producer and director quit (likely from pressure and SCV's reception) and were replaced with another veteran individual.
With a new direction, the first thing that the new team did was to release an HD port of SCII for the PS3 and for the Xbox 360. Later, they released a FTP single player game, Lost Swords for the PS3. The game is flawed in a lot of aspects (a fighting game that's only single player?), but it's heart was in the right place and it made a few steps to putting the series back in the right direction after the damage that SCV committed. With Unbreakable Souls launching later this year or the next year, it seems
